COVID Foodbank
In 2020, the global pandemic brought tourism in Thailand to a sudden standstill, over 3,800 captive Asian elephants faced an uncertain and dire future. In this time of crisis, Trunks Up rose to the occasion in partnership with the legendary Jane Goodall, to ensure these majestic creatures didn’t go hungry.
Magnificent Seven
In 2020, seven elephants were trapped in a life of servitude at a riding camp. Through a mammoth effort, Trunks Up raised record funds to save them.
Phuket Zoo Rescue
Tang Mo and San Mueang were rescued by Trunks Up in 2020 after spending years at Phuket Zoo, forced to ‘rave’ to music, ‘play’ musical instruments and perform an array of tricks for tourists’ amusement.
Kavaan Jungle Home
Once the world’s loneliest elephant, global outrage in 2020 sparked an incredible opportunity to rescue Kaavan from isolation in a Pakistani zoo and relocate him to a magnificent jungle home in northern Cambodia.
ENP Clinic
Lek Chailert’s ultimate dream has been to have a place where all animals can receive optimal veterinary treatment on site at Elephant Nature Park. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of animals rescued to ENP making this a crucial time to make this dream come true. Construction is now in progress!
